Latest updates from the Liberal Democrats
We're the only people that can stop Ed Miliband and the SNP wrecking our economy and taking us back to square one.
Five years ago today, David Cameron said the Tories had no plans to raise VAT. Only a few weeks after the election, George Osborne announced he was raising it. This broken promise has cost families on average £1,800.
We have made a manifesto commitment to invest £10m in boosting support for our armed forces veterans suffering from mental health problems.
There's 11 days to go, and just 23 seats to win.
Together, we can stop Miliband and the SNP - so let's do it

Under David Cameron, too many people are struggling to keep up with huge rent hikes. A Labour government will:
Stop rents rising faster than inflation during three-year tenancies
Make landlords disclose previous tenants' rents
Remove tax relief from rogue landlords
Mental health is one of the Liberal Democrats’ top priorities. We are committed to ending discrimination against mental health in our NHS, delivering genuine parity of esteem between mental health and physical health.
Jobs, growth and a better future - with 2 million more people in work since 2010.
As Labour, we understand something the Tories never will. We know that politics is about people, not money. Up and down the country, our members and supporters are speaking with voters every day. Campaigners are making 75,000 contacts per day. We are well on our way to making four million contacts before polling day.
When Labour left government in 2010 they left economic devastation and a country on the brink of breaking. As Liam Byrne said, there was no money.
In this exclusive film, Sir John Major - Britain's Prime Minister between 1990 and 1997 - discusses the importance of the role and the qualities required.
For five years, the Tories have broken promise after promise on the NHS. In under two weeks we can have a Labour government that puts NHS patients ahead of profits.
There are 6.5m carers across Britain supporting loved ones and we want to help them. Our new measures form part of the party's Disability Manifesto.
"Who do you want running our country – the people who helped to mend our economy, or the people who helped to break it?"
That's the clear choice at this election

In two weeks Ed Miliband can be Prime Minister, and we can start the work of restoring Britain's standing in the world. Share this post if you back Ed.
The Conservatives plan to cut £50bn more than the Lib Dems would. That's a lot. And we're not really sure how they're going to do it.

SUMMING UP: ANALYSIS

What seems to be the Conservative Party’s main focus?
A stronger economy, Cutting income tax, Creating jobs, Rewarding work, Reducing the deficit, Controlling immigration and a Strong national health system is the most important points for the Conservatives!

What seems to be the Liberal Democrats’ main focus?
To recover the society and invest in the military future, and make the NHS better.

Australia fack yeah!

Hola! Today I have some Q&A for you!

Checkpoints:
1.
The Aborigines were the first settlers on the Australian continent. Where did they come from?
The aborginies originally came from the Asian mainland.

The Aboriginal population was halved quite soon after the European arrival. What was the reason for this?
The Europeans killed a lot of the Europeans, some years after the Europeans arrived the population of the Aborigines was halved.
.
Aboriginal children were taken away from their homes for more than 100 years. How many children are believed to have experienced this?
It is estimated that more than 100.000 children were taken away from their parents.

Viewpoints:
1.
Why do you think Mr Howard and Mr Keating refused to make an official apology?
Because they thought it was right to do what they did.
2.
Can you think of any other group of people who have experienced something similar? Who are they and what did they experience?
The Indians has experienced something similar. The Europeans came and killed almost everyone. When they arrived the mainland of America.

Research and discover:
1.
Find out about the Maories in New Zealand. Who are they and how is their situation in New Zealand today?
The Māori originated with settlers from eastern Polynesia, who arrived in New Zealand in several waves of canoe voyages at some time between 1250 and 1300 CE. Today the Maories is a usuall part of the society.
2.
Compare the history of Australian Aborigines and the New Zealand Maories.
When the Europeans came to New Zealand and Australia they changed the two native peoples with a new culture and different sights on the life.

These two groups have had quite different experiences.
Can you think of possible reasons for this?
I think the Europeans did not like any native people, and they just wanted to think new not old. I also think that both the Aborigines and the Maories could be willing to make a change, in that way many more had survived .

A Passage to India

Hey! Today i have a little text and som Q&A for you! Enjoy this exciting reading!

Mahana is slowly walking down the streets of New Delhi, she has just finished school for today. She has written a master degree and its going to evaluated today. She has some big concerns about getting a job. Yesterday she asked about a job in a large mobile firm, she is waiting for a call about the job, as she drifts down towards a Restaurant. The Restaurant is a nice restaurant with an expensive menu, she has a lot of money to use, her father is a rich and successful business man. She meets her friends at a table in the restaurant and sits down. Some minutes later the telephone rings! She smiles and every friend is wondering what it is about. Mahana hangs up and smiles! “I got the job!”, she yells. Mahana Is so happy, now she can relax and enjoy every day to the fullest without no woories of getting a job or not.
In India there are very hard to get a proper job, their technology has come very far but they cannot use it with so poor education that the country of India has. Many people in India are poor and more will come but somebody are lucky and one of them is Mahana!

1.      Look up the words “Rural” and “Urban” in a dictionary and find out what they mean.
Rural:
Living in the countryside and use whatever that grows there.
Urban: City environment.

2.      What are the difference between rural and urban areas in Norway? In India?
In india there are poor people that lives on the farms in the countryside. But in Norway we have rich farmers with a huge house and farm.

3.      “If everyone in the world consumed as much as people in industrialized countries do, we would need eight planets as big as the earth to meet their demands” Comment on this statement.
In the industrialized country’s we get enormous amounts of garbage that we throw away. In the end it is going to be too much for us to handle! If everyone used as much as we do it would be an overload of garbage everywhere.

4.      Some people in Europe and America have changed their way of life to “simple living” in eco-villages or small farms in rural areas. The basic idea is to go back to nature, produce your own food , share and live in closely-knit communities. Can you think of reasons why people choose this way of life?
I can think of a few reasons why. I think the people that choose to do this is people that are very sick of the top modern life in the cities. It had been very nice to let go of the smartphone and the computer to just live your life without any worries of social media warnings and so on! To live of the nature is much more relaxing and healthy than live in the city.

6.   What are your top three priorities in life?

My top three priorities is to get a good job, help other to get a better life and die like          king.
